Currently on view at Jill Platner’s Gallery in SoHo are Holton Rower focus paintings. Dazzling color, amorphic form, ranging from simple to complex. Intentionally unfocused, Holton challenges the viewer to draw a line between break down and formation in a blurry field of images and colors. From 20th century abstraction Holton takes a closer look to reveal psychedelic fields where edges are distorted and blurred. A new type of optical painting with roots in photography and printmaking.
